I would like to invite you to an Opening Reception, Special Event for me and my art at the  Angel Fire ArtSpace Gallery, Angel Fire, New Mexico, July 5, 2012.
I just received word, that my 5 boxes arrived safely at the Gallery. That's 5 new watercolors, making their debut' July 5th, 5 - 7:30 PM. The Gallery is located in the Centro Plaza of Angel Fire, New Mexico, on Highway 434. You can follow the underlined link in this paragraph to visit the Gallery's website and learn more about the reception and location.
If you are near by, I would love to meet you and talk with you!
It's going to be a wonderful trip for me. Not only do I have the Opening Reception going on, I'll also be photographing Spanish Mustangs in the wild, while I'm in NM! These wild horses roam 4000 acres on this Ranch/Sanctuary in Monero.
I also plan on a horse back ride in the Angel Fire Mountains, again.
So lots of plans in the works and I'll be looking forward to creating new art when I return home.

On another note, I want to remind you, that The 63rd Texas Watercolor Society Annual Juried Exhibition opened June 1 and runs to the 30th, 2012, at the San Antonio Art League & Museum, San Antonio, Texas.  If you are in that area, my watercolor Tell me it's ok  is exhibiting in this prestigious exhibit.
Limited Edition 50 Prints are available through my studio.

This week, I received a wonderful hand written letter from the Texas Watercolor Society, Congratulating me on becoming a Signature Member with the Society! With this prestigious membership, I may use the letters TWS with my signature on original paintings. I'm very honored!
Hopefully, I'll be able to meet you in New Mexico at the Opening July 5th! If not, don't worry, as we plan on taking photos of the event, and I'll update everyone with images and how it went!

Have a happy and safe weekend!

'Summer Snooze' by Valarie Wolf

This new painting is an 8 x 10 oil---I tend to favor this size for some reason.  I am playing around with warms and cools, and enjoy the subtle color changes which tend to add a lot to a painting.  I hope you enjoy!

The Spokane Story Teller with Appaloosa Horse in Watercolor by Debbie Flood

Spokane Story Teller Large Web view

Spokane Story Teller 17 x 21 inches Watercolor on 300lb Watercolor Paper. $1,400.00 USD

The Spokane Story Teller is finished.  Boy, there sure was/is a lot of detail in this painting, but I had so much fun with it!

I thank Debbie Herzman for her generosity, of supplying images to me, of her costumes that she sewed for her own Appaloosa Horses. And for taking the time to give me background information on the Costume.

This story teller, was from the Spokane Tribe, in Spokane, Washington. The Story Teller was embellished with many beads, and shells and she wore the hat of a White Man.

The Appaloosa Horse, on the red saddle bag, represents the Spokane Lady at the Horse Parade.

I plan on putting this painting into the International Museum of Art of El Paso, Texas, Solo Exhibit in 2013. The painting will be available for purchase through the Museum, during that time.

Thank you for following the progress of this painting. I enjoyed painting it, and I hope you enjoyed watching.

Next up, for the Tribal theme, is a Warrior, his War Horse and the Warrior Shirt he has been honored with.
