Arabesque

This is another "drawing challenge" from the Equine Art Guild >http://www.equineartguild.com/<. The source photo is of a young filly near Abu Dhabi in the U.A.E. so she is a "real" Arab, living in the desert. I loved the unusual pose, and that she was comfortable laying down with a photographer so near; that shows a level of trust and confidence that is so sweet. This is pastel on pastel board, 8x10, which I have never tried before. It deserves some more investigation. The pastel surface is still fragile but the board is much hardier than any paper.
