"Malpais Gold" original oil by Kerry Nelson

"Malpais Gold"

Living thier lives along the edges of the Malpais lava flows in southcentral New Mexico, this little family of mustangs seeks sanctuary and grazing among the treacherous walls and boulders of razor sharp volcanic rock.

"Malpais Gold" is painted on a hand-made 14x18x1/8 inch hardboard panel using archival materials and is signed on the front, and, titled, signed, and, dated on the back. This is the original artwork, not a reproduction! Comes with a gorgeous antique gold with black crackle insert wood frame

Taking the Corner at the Head of the Lake

Last week I went to the Rolex Kentucky 3-day Event, as is tradition, with several girlfriends. It's all horses all day for 3 days and we have a blast. It helps to cast off winter and start fresh upon returning home. One of the most exciting days is cross country and one of the most exciting jumps is the the water jump at the Head of the Lake. This is Bruce Davidson and Jam as they took the middle portion of the jump complex.
This original 5x7 matted (8x10) watercolor is available for $80 plus $5 S&H to the first emailer to lojomjnc@charter.net.
I am also offering 5x7 giclees for $10 plus $5 S&H.
20% of proceeds from this painting will be donated to Cheff Center for Therapeutic Riding in Augusta, MI.

Winter Whiskers, Chestnut Horse

From my daily painting project, Painting a Dog a Day, I give you "Winter Whiskers II (Chestnut Horse)," 4" x 8", acrylic equine painting on canvasboard, $249 to the first taker, with proceeds going to the Oakland Pet Adoption Center (my local shelter). Inquiries may come to ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com .

I just can't say enough good things about my local shelter, the Oakland Pet Adoption Center. In the face of some tough times in our community, they are staying on track with respect to putting animal welfare first. I am so proud that the Dog-a-Day painting sales support their efforts. You can read about them and sign up for their newsletter here: www.michiganpetfund.org

Thanks as always for sharing my paintings!
See you tomorrow,

Horse Shows Again

This summer, one of the local barns is celebrating their 20th anniversary. They are wonderful people with beautiful horses, and I've been going to and enjoying their horse shows for over half that time. To help them celebrate, I did an ink and watercolor montage of some of the things I've seen at their shows over the years. Ink and watercolor is a fun medium that can be handled in a fresh feeling, loose style. I had nearly as much fun doing this as I do going to the shows.
