Belgians in the Field and other Daily Paintings

Original Oil Paintings by Sue Steiner

For several months now I have been posting 'daily paintings' on my blog at http://www.amulti-coloredlife.blogspot.com/ I confess I don't do a daily painting each day but rather fit them in between commissions and other more involved paintings. A daily painting for me is one defined as being completed in one sitting. The idea is to pack as much as I can into these paintings but because of the self imposed time limit I can not get too 'fussy'. What happens is the brushstrokes become bolder and more efficient and the work is looser and livelier. Thats the idea anyways! I sell my daily paintings at my Art Studio at Second April Art Gallerie or online at my Etsy Shop thru paypal.

Above you will see a few examples of my daily paintings on sale now. I paint horses but also do other animals as well. Some of my work also has an Amish or rural theme since that is representative of where I live.

To see more art by me please stop by my web site at http://www.suesteiner.com/

Thank you!

Buggy Barn Painting

I will resume painting in the Buggy Barn at Lehman's Feb. 21, 2008. The photo above are some buggy horses I painted last year in this same Amish Buggy Barn. As you can see there are also other animals to keep the horses company! To read more about this exciting project go to: http://countrylife.lehmans.com/author/suesteiner/ or to my web site: www.suesteiner.com and click on the mural page.

Amish Buggy Horse Portrait

I painted this very recently. It is primarily watercolor with a wee bit of CP and acrylic ink.

I am an artist living in Amish County in Ohio. I also happen to love painting horses so buggy horses and work horses are often subjects in my paintings. Since I love all things equine I widen my range and paint a whole variety of horses, donkeys, mules etc. I also paint farm animals, people, flowers and the occassional landscape as well as pet and horse portraits. I like to work in a wide range also from life sized horse murals on display at Lehman's in Kidron, Ohio to intricate floral watercolors. I work in acrylics, watercolor, graphite, colored pencil, oils and pastels.

I sell my art thru pay pal on my web site http://www.suesteiner.com/ or http://www.amish-art.com/ I also keep a blog where I often post work in progress photos. You can see this painting take shape there a couple weeks back. The blog is located at http://www.amulti-coloredlife.blogspot.com/
