Little Night Mare, equine art postage stamp.
Little Night Mare
She's not a big scary nightmare, she's just a little one. She might be more like a dream .... If you dream of horses, you might dream of one like this. She's just fun to see.
This original painting was created using a faux encaustic technique with many layers of collage, mediums, paper and paint. When you look at the painting you see down through the layers. She is also covered with texture. The surface of this painting is amazing to feel!
The original painting is for sale and will be posted in my Etsy shop. I'll post a link to her, once she is there. The painting itself, is 7X10", float mounted into a 14X16 " frame.
She's on a postage stamp at Zazzle to be purchased to add a special quality to notes you might send to your friends. If you'd like something special and unique, she's for you.
I hope you enjoy her.

Tail Lights, a Racing Scene by Kimberly Kelly Santini
My Saratoga gallery asked for some pieces around 8" x 10" or smaller and I got the seemingly-brilliant-at-the-time idea to create a series of horse butt racing scenes, all individual. So I set my easel up with four, planning to attack the first batch all at once.
And then that seemingly-brilliant-at-the-time idea blossomed into something entirely different.
What if instead I painted an entire field of horses, running away from the viewer, but stretched them artistically across the four panels? I would end up with four different paintings, but when they were assembled, they become one combined image.
So I spent the last 6 days trying to answer that question. I think I got my answer!
But what do you think?
Thanks, as always, for following along with my artwork,
Warmly, Kimberly Santini

Sprout - Original Art by 2015 Kentucky Derby Artist Kimberly Santini
Originally I had titled this piece "Siesta," because the foal looked incredibly sleepy in my reference photo. However, somewhere along the way, that changed a bit. So I'm open to suggestions!
Congratulations to JR who suggested "Sprout" as the title - she will receive a cell phone case in appreciation for her mad painting naming skills!

Spring in the Mountains, Mustang Mare and Foal. Oil by Deborah Flood
New Mustang Painting, fresh off the easel!
"Spring in the Mountains"
20 x 21 Inches.
Oil on hand stretched Linen Canvas. (yes, I put together the stretcher bars, and cut the canvas, and stretched it to the bars. Very hands on work of art!)
Since the passing of my artist grandmother, I have her supplies and materials. So I’ve been stretching the rolled Linen canvas onto stretcher bars.
I have found that I enjoy stretching my own, and building the size I want, and not relying on a store or manufacturer to decide for me. It’s rather freeing, and feels a lot more like a hands on experience and piece of art!
I worked up this painting, from a reference photo I took on my trips out to New Mexico.
Purchase inquiries welcome. And the piece is listed on my website in the Oil Painting Portfolio.
Enjoy,
Deborah Flood

Momma's Got Your Back ~~ Kimberly Santini
Sometimes time is all you need.
After taking a break from this piece over the weekend, this morning I saw immediately what needed to be done. And I did it. Or so I think - we'll see what my eyes tell me tomorrow morning!
Meanwhile, I sorted through 77 Valentines Day Painting Giveaway entries - you can see the finalists on FB. Which photo do you think I'll be painting on Friday?
Thanks, as always, for following along with my artwork!

The International Museum of Art is proud to present:
The Horse; Spirit, Art, and Soul is a Signature Members exhibition of Equine Art in different media forms.
Founded September 16, 2010 by USA Equine Artist, Deborah Flood, The International Equine Artists was formed for artists who enjoy creating the horse in art. The group started out as a handful of equine artists from the USA, Canada and Australia, who wanted a place to network, share, and have an online community and professional presence. The Organization is based in the USA, but to accommodate those two other Countries, "International" was added to the Business Name. As the group became more popular, more artists from many different Countries around the globe requested to join. The membership has blossomed into a wonderfully diverse group of artists.
